How to grow Oriental Poppies
The Oriental culture is one of the oldest in the history of humanity. It has many characteristics that have turned it into one of the biggest cultures, that continue very present, and not only because it comes from the biggest population in the world (for a single country), but by the extension of its territory and variety of cultures, starting with the most flashy of its customs, the martial arts, that have spread all around the world with great acceptance, then going through its history and events that have changed world history, like inventions, wars, dynasties. You also can talk about the food, with a diverse culinary tradition, which has been passed through the years by families, having a lot of success in the Occidental world. The oriental food is most of all based in a rich diet of rice and many other seeds, making this an agrarian culture. The oriental culture of growing plants and harvesting is well recognized around the world, and this is made with great care and patience, just like everything that comes from the oriental culture.But what is my point with all these and the oriental poppies? Well everything that is good and with quality needs time, and the Orientals are very good at that, well to grow Oriental poppies, some of the traits of the oriental people are qualities you are going to need to grow them.

1. - Wait for the right season to grow the plant, summer or spring. 2. - Get the Oriental poppy seeds or a healthy plant to get the seeds or cuttings from it. 3. - Plant the oriental poppies on a warm, well-drained soil out of the reach of plant predators. 4. - Water and fertilize the plant constantly, you can put 3 inches of organic compost on top of the plant to help the growing process. 5. - After the Oriental poppy has grown up enough, you should pull off the head of the flowers, if you don’t want the seed to spread all around your garden. 6. - If you want your garden to always look pretty, you must cut the old stems in the middle of the summer that is normally the time when plants die out. 7. - Support tall plants so they won't flop over.
